Beat the queue at Gormanston 2016!

Gormanston time is fast approaching and preparations are well underway for what will be another excellent week of beekeeping knowledge. We look forward to hearing the guest speaker Jamie Ellis from the University of Florida.

While most residential participants have confirmed their attendance and paid the balance of the cost, there are a few who have not confirmed their attendance. I would appreciate if those participants would do so immediately.

Over 100 day attendees have registered and paid. In order to avoid long delays at the registration desk on the morning I would ask all people who intend to attend as day participants to register with me. Send your reservation form, available here, and email it to mgglee@eircom.net . I will then issue an invoice through PayPal and you can then pay and thus avoid a long queue on the morning.

This year we are celebrating the 70th Summer Course organised by FIBKA and the 56th held at the Franciscan College, Gormanston, Co Meath. We will celebrate the occasion with a Gala dinner /Banquet on Wednesday evening of the course. All who are staying in the College are included in this event. Others who may wish to attend are welcome to do so but must register with me before Sunday 24th of July. The cost is €50.

All those taking part in the event will assemble in the Castle from 5.30 p.m. through the main door where you will have an opportunity to view the interior of the castle. Wine, tea/coffee will be served. Local historian Brendan Matthew will give a half hour talk on the castle, its history and the family who owned it.

At 6.45 p.m. the group will be led by renowned piper Dennis Ryan to the college dining room to be seated by 7.15 where a 5 course meal will be served with waited service provided.
